Our children are important to us at First Baptist Church Albany.
The Preschool and Children's ministry strives to partner with parents to nurture and lay a strong biblical foundation in the life of each child. We want each child to grow to experience God in a personal way and to accept Christ as his/her personal savior and Lord. By instilling biblical values in each child at an early age we encourage him/her to experience God, accept Christ, and to grow in wisdom and knowledge of His word.
- Cradle Roll: Members with new babies are visited and their children are enrolled in the Church Nursery Ministry. Each baby receives a New Testament and a Diaper Bag, which is made by our Sewing Ministry.
- Baby Dedication Service: At least two times each year newborns and their parents are recognized at the Sunday morning worship service. They receive a memento of the service and parents participate in a commitment of promise to raise their child in a Godly home.
- Sunday Mornings: Children through 5th grade attend age appropriate Sunday School Classes from 9:00 - 10:15. A Children's Sermon is presented at the 10:30 worship service, afterwards children in Pre-K 4 through 1st Grade are invited to attend Big House in the Children's Worship Area. Children's praise music and worship are experienced. (Nursery is provided for children 6 weeks - 3 years) 5th and 6th Graders participate in "Big House Helper" ministry as mentors & helpers for the younger children, providing Bible skits/drama, puppet shows .
- Sunday Evenings: Nursery is provided 6 weeks-Older 3's class. *Children in Pre-K4class-5th Grade attend worship with their families. *** All parents and their children are invited to participate in the 5th Sunday Missions Projects on Sunday Afternoons/Evenings.
- Wednesday Evening: Church Family supper begins at 5:00 & graded choirs begin at 5:45-6:30. Age appropriate -Missions, RAs & GAs through 5th grade are from 6:30-7:30. Playground closes at 7:30pm-children must be accompanied by an adult while on playground.
- EACH ADULT IS SCREENED BY A BACKGROUND CHECK.
